If you didn’t see my last post I just want to repeat: I am a BLACK, 21 YEAR OLD LADY, let these views reflect that. This is in response to those that do not like the idea of using #AllLivesMatter.

When you say that #AllLivesMatter came about because “white people” wanted to silence the issues of blacks:

Do you realize that THAT statement is racist? I know people that are for #AllLivesMatter that are not white. I also know people that are for #BlackLivesMatter that are white. We cannot generalize who is for and who is against. So, you are defeating the purpose.

…there are a lot of circumstances that have arisen from this hashtag that make it seem that only black lives matter and no one else. Which is not what the hashtag was trying to create but has, in some ways, still created.

When you say that #AllLivesMatter takes away from the matter at hand and does not shine light on the issue of black lives being taken:

Do you realize that if #AllLivesMatter had started in the first place people would have seen the issue at hand and it would have made them realize the problem in the same way?

When you say that #BlackLivesMatter is not to spread hate, it is to spread awareness of the matter:

Do you realize how many police personnel, that protect us and give their lives up for us every day, are being treated in the way that YOU say you would not want to be treated? Do you realize that the hashtag has not only “helped” the awareness of black lives being taken but has shown how much hate can come from black lives as well?

To me, #AllLivesMatter does not mean silencing the black community…

While I am not saying that ALL people that use #BlackLivesMatter are trying to show hate, there are a lot of circumstances that have arisen from this hashtag that make it seem that only black lives matter and no one else. Which is not what the hashtag was trying to create but has, in some ways, still created. I have a white AND a black cop in my family, and I would hate to think that one of them would experience more questions for arresting someone of a different color than the other.

To me, #AllLivesMatter does not mean silencing the black community, it means making a community of people see that everyone matters equally, and NO ONE should experience hate.
To me, it shows that ALL LIVES truly do MATTER.
